I used to be in Engineering. I pursued it for years; getting ready for it in high school... thinking that God created me to be a woman pioneer in a male-dominated field to help out in developmental projects all over the world.
But when I got to University & actually started working towards it... it just felt like i was wearing wet socks. yuck! gross. that's exactly the feeling... gross.
Until one desperate december evening, it just felt like something dropped from heaven. A new direction: "Government".
So I switched from Engineering to Arts, and soon graduated with an Honours degree in Politics. God affirmed me time and time again that that's where He wanted me for that time. I had so much fun being there. I loved my department, my study, my field, my professors, my classmates. I went on trips, paid by the University and sometimes, by political work... I got to meet the PMs of Canada, on numerous occassions... got to hear Bono speak on alleviating the debt of Africa. Got to hang out with David Suzuki & Bruce Cockburn after he played for UNICEF in China! over and over again.. God was affirming that I heard right: "government". But I just automatically assumed that "government" equals "politics".. when in reality, i never bothered to stop and ask and seek what the heck "government" meant, theologically.
At age 24, i needed a a political sabbatical. so i went to Oxford - to bible school. study theology. And there, it was revealed to me ... "government" doesnt equate to politics but the Kingdom of God - which is the rule of Christ. not in a theocratic way, either.
I haven't figured it all out..I'm still on this journey....
But I know that my perspective is no longer as rigid as it used to be... i couldnt keep HIM in the box I placed him in....
Isaiah 9:6-7
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this".
Ya, I did hear it right: "government". now, onto a journey of seeking Him as to what it really means & how it ought to affect how i live...

A Collection of Biblical Scripture - in reference to JUSTICE.
For a follower of Jesus Christ, I also want to do God's will; and I believe that part of what that may look like for me in this life is to pursue >>JUSTICE<<. I know that there are many "wars to fight"; there are many causes to champion. But I am now on a search. What breaks God's heart in the area of >>JUSTICE<< that breaks mine? I don't have a clear answer to this just yet. And that is partly why I didn't apply to Grad School yet again this year, despite what my Professors have said. Without this clarity, without this conviction - I don't know what God's best is. SO I am camping out "here".
Where is "here"?
Here is a place, open to hear, see & realize what God's justice may look like in my life for right now. "Lord, have mercy over me"...
So like the subject of the blog, this is going to be a place where I'll be collecting verses that pertain to >>JUSTICE<<. I may or may not feel compelled to explain or unpack why I've noted such verses. It really all depends.
My hope is that one day, I'd be able to make sense of all of this, in such a way that I don't only know what it could mean... but that I would also be able to live by it, and pursue it as my days allow.
"Para su gloria, mi Dios. AMEN".

Proverbs 2:7-11
"He ((God)) holds victory in store for the upright ((we're only upright through Christ)), he ((God)) is a shield to those whose walk is blameless ((again, in faith through grace in Christ & not by our own flawed & insufficient efforts)), for he ((God)) guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair ((Lord, this is what I want...)) - every good path. ((I can't sustain walking here unless it's through you...)) For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant in your soul. ((Wisdom is God-given; cf. Proverbs instruction that the "fear/reverence" of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. & Knowledge: ??I wonder if this is something we learn/acquire/accumulate - meaning: something we can work on??)) Discretion will protect you ((God, help me here!)), and understanding will guard you ((Help me here as well, Lord))".

A new blog?
I'm not really sure as to what my purpose is for opening this blog. It may serve all sorts of things, depending on the day and where I'm at in any given season.
I don't really expect people to read it; although I'm sure there would be some visitors/readers from time to time.
My thoughts for this blog are as follows:
(1) Originally, a place to reflect on what God deposited in me during Passion '07 (cf. www.268generation.com), which would make this blog a place of reflection. {Reflection: a KBCTC value affirmed in me while I was in the UK (cf. www.kbctc.org)}.
(2) A place to write encouragement, and perhaps to replace my long email updates I spam my friends from all over the world from time to time.
(3) A place to provoke some thought & theological discussion.
So there, welcome to my blog.
